Video Tutorial: Collaborative Problem Solving

This little post packs a big punch! Hanna Bogen, one of our CW therapists, has created a short video tutorial that describes collaborative problem solving. Ross Greene’s approach has been hailed by therapists, social workers, counselors, and parents as a fabulous way to engage children in collaborating to solve problems, even if the child is notoriously explosive when angry or frustrated. When faced with a child’s problem, adults often assume we understand what is causing the issue and how it should be solved, even before we consult the child. Collaborative problem solving is a strategy that allows the child and adult to work together to find solutions that are effective, lasting, and mutually beneficial.Click here to watch the video: http://www.educreations.com/lesson/view/collaborative-problem-solving/13323716/For additional information about Ross Greene and collaborative problem solving, visit his website: www.livesinthebalance.org
